About Annie Sokoloff

Annie Sokoloff didn’t set out to become a writer. In fact, she arrived here the long way—through careers, kids, curveballs, and the kind of life detours that make for excellent stories once you’ve survived them. After seven decades spent working on Wall Street, in the travel industry, and later designing her own clothing line in the bridal world, she embraced a late‑in‑life reinvention with her signature mantra: “70 is the new 50.” What she discovered was her most vibrant chapter yet.

Today, Annie is a witty chronicler of everyday chaos, turning the beautiful, maddening, hilarious mess of womanhood into stories filled with humor, heart, and the kind of wisdom you only earn by living it. Whether she’s orchestrating Martha‑worthy dinner parties or vying for the elusive “Grandmother of the Year” award, she knows how to turn multitasking into a masterclass in comedy. Her “mostly true” essays celebrate the women who juggle careers, caregiving, reinvention, relationships, and the occasional identity crisis—often all before lunch.

Drawing inspiration from the sharp wit of Erma Bombeck, the honesty of Nora Ephron, and the everyday brilliance of women everywhere, Annie brings a voice that’s warm, incisive, and delightfully unfiltered. Her work reminds readers that life’s chaos is not just survivable—it’s story‑worthy. Her book Oh, So Many Balls captures this spirit perfectly, sharing the glorious messiness of womanhood with humor, heart, and just the right amount of wine.

Annie lives in Reno, Nevada with her husband, Pete, whom she met more than 30 years ago thanks to a wrong phone number—proof that some of life’s best stories begin with a misdial.
